XP Virus Protection – another rogue
XP Virus Protection is another rogue anti-spyware application. This parasite uses Trojan viruses, such as Zlob or Vundo, to enter the system. These trojans are usually advertised as Video ActiveX codecs in various suspicious websites. The main goal of XPVirus Protection is to steal money from naive users using well known methods how to make user believe that his system is seriously infected.
Once inside and actve, XPVirusProtection starts it’s nasty job. It floods the system with pop-up windows and other similar notifications about various security problems, privacy issues and infections. Mainly, all these and similar actions are performed in order to scare the user. Sadly, but is seems that those methods still works quite well with simple-hearted and inexperienced users. After the fake scan usually goes infections removal, but it can’t be done with trial verion of XP Virus Protection, because it still has some limitations. So, scammers then suggest to buy a full version. But actually buying this product won’t help you, because it is as infection itself and has to be removed instead of buying.
