What is Personal Antivirus?
Personal Antivirus is another rogue anti-spyware application. In general, it has many similarities with another fake spyware remover called Internet Antivirus Pro. Personal Antivirus usually enters the system when user visits malicious websites or it can be mistakenly installed as video codec. The main goal of such applications is mainly to scare the user, hopping that he will buy a full copy of Personal Antivirus later.
Once installed and active, Personal Antivirus is configured to run automatically every time the system starts up. Usually, it generates fake and misleading system error messages or floods the system with pop-up windows about various infections and security problems. However, as we have stated earlier, the main aim of Personal Antivirus is to trick the user into purchasing Personal Antivirus. It is very important to ignore those fake alert notifacations and remove Personal Antivirus from the system immediately after detection.
