What is Antivir and how to remove it?

Antivir is classified as a rogue anti-spyware application because it is promoted through the use of Trojans (and other malware) and uses false scan results, fake security alerts and browser hijacking to scare you into thinking your PC is badly infected with all sorts of malware. Well, to make things very clear – the only real infection is Antivir itself. First of all, do not purchase it. The main goal of this infection is to trick out money from you, so don’t do that. Secondly, you should use an anti-spyware application to remove Antivir from the system as soon as possible. Otherwise, this virus will make the situation even more complicated.

One of the most annoying things about this malware, is that Antivir constantly displays fake security alerts and notifications from Windows taskbar. The fake alerts state that your computer has many serious security problems or privacy issues. The rogue then asks to pay for a full version of the program to remove the infections (which do not even exist) and to ensure full system protection. Well, that’s obviously nothing more but a scam. Antivir files are listed below. You may have to end its processes first, because this parasite will likely block anti-virus software and security related websites.

Antivir files: Antivir.exe, UpdateCheck.dll, Antivir.lnk, uninstall.lnk
