Rogue antispyware SecretService
SecretService is a rogue anti-spyware created to get money of users for a fake data loss. SecretService is usually installed by Trojans or other parasites through infected websites. Moreover there is a possibility that some rogue anti-spyware is created and distributed by using sharewares bundled with Trojans. This malware is created to run fake system scan and detect imaginary spyware and non-existing threats. These fake popup alerts are trying to convince the user to purchase the “full†SecretService application which is a waste of money.
The tactics of SecretService is to make sure you get false positives or fake alerts and high pressure of marketing. SecretService application seems to be real and legitimate, but it has poor virus detection. If the speed of the PC extremely went down, desktop shortcuts changed and the popup ads keep appearing, even when the user is not online, there is a possibility that computer has SecretService badware.
