PestTrap
PestTrap is one of the most notorious adware-based rogue anti-spyware parasites that infect your system via trojans or browser security exploits. Its main function is to harass the users with countless pop-up security warnings until they are scared enough to milk money from them.
As soon as PestTrap infects a system, it starts to generate security-related pop-ups. These messages state that your computer has been infected with spyware. Once clicked upon, they redirect you to PestTrap homepage, where you are offered a free spyware scan. Once it is complete, you will be shown a counterfeit scan report with lots of non-existent and exaggerated threats in the list.
Then, you will be offered to buy PestTrap in order to get rid of these “threats”. Be aware that PestTrap is a scam program and that its sole purpose is to milk money from unsuspecting and gullible users. Do not fall for this trap and remove PestTrap immediately after detection.
