Personal Protector scam
Personal Protector is a clone of the Personal Guard 2009 rogue anti-spyware program. This program deliberately uses false scan results and fake security alerts to make you think your PC is badly infected. It pretends to be a legitimate anti-spyware application but in reality it’s just another scam. Like its predecessor, once running, the rogue application will scan your computer and display scan results that are actually the same regardless of the computer it is run on. It does this to scare you into believing you are infected and in this way make you purchase the program. While the program is running, you will also see alerts being displayed on your desktop stating that your computer is infected or that your computer is under attack by an Internet virus. Both statements are false of course. Do not purchase this bogus application because this won’t make the situation easier. You will simply lose your money and likely won’t get them back. So, avoid this scam and be safe on the net!
