New rogue: System Defender
System Defender a rogue program from the same family of rogues such as Virus Doctor and Windows System Defender. SystemDefender uses aggressive and misleading advertisements in order to make you think your computer is infected with malware. Once installed, the misleading application will list a variety of exaggerated or false results and prompt you to pay for a full version of the program to remove them. This is a scam, though, do not purchase this program.
System Defender will also display fake alerts on the compromised computer. These alerts range from fake Windows Security Center alerts stating that something is attacking your computer to fake firewall alerts stating that Internet Explorer is infected. These alerts are false and can be safely ignored. If you have this infection, the best thing you can do for your computer at this point is to uninstall System Defender. Please read more about this malware and how to remove it in the websites listed below.
