New rogue – PCAntiMalware

PCAntiMalware is a new bogus anti-spyware program. It was probably created by same group of cyber-thieves, who have created Cleaner2009 and AntiMalwareSuite a bit earlier this year. The rogue is promoted on various untrusted websites or through the use of Trojans and misleading advertisements. PCAntiMalware is installed without user’s permission. This is a first sign of a bogus application. The main aim of this parasite is to scare the user and to promote a licensed version of PC AntiMalware.

Once this rogue is active, it runs fake system scan and reports fake results. PCAntiMalware only mimics real anti-spyware applications, so all the information produced by this parasite is false. It will also flood the system with annoying and fake security alerts. These alerts are being shown only to scare the user. That’s why users have to ignore such fake information and remove PCAntiMalware from the system upon detection. Removal delay will only worsen the situation, because PCAntiMalware can download and install additional malware or spyware.
