IE Security – another counterfeit anti-spyware application
IE-Security is another counterfeit anti-spyware application. It pretends to be Windows XP or Windows Vista security software. IE Security was released by the same group of people that had created WinDefender 2009 earlier. Also it uses the same behavior and spreading techniques. The main goal of this rogue is to trick money from users.
IESecurity enters the system with the help of Zlob or Vundo type trojans. It might also spread through misleading advertisements on the web sites. Once this parasite is installed and active, it performs fake system scan. IE Security reports misleading security alerts about infections and privacy issues which are not really present. What is more, this rogue can affect system performance by decreasing speed notably. Nearly everything is done in order to scare users. Scammers suggest user to buy a full copy of IE-Security, because trial version can’t remove all infections.
Of course the best decision is to remove IE-Security form the system. It’s not only because this rogue is useles, but also because it’s dangerous.
