FileFix Professional 2009 – another corrupt application
FileFix Professional 2009 is a corrupt application, fake decrypter. Actually FileFixProfessional 2009 is a ransomware, designed to fix illegally encrypted files. But the problem is that it won’t help you to fix those infected files, because it only mimics real files encryption applications. The main goal of this parasite is mainly to steal money from naive people, but not to help them.
FileFixProfessional is advertised through a Trojan virus which is called fpfstb.dll. After infection, this trojan virus encrypts Office documents, PDF or other media files. The worst thing is that once encrypted, file becomes unreadable. Then fpfstb.dll trojan floods the system with various notifications about corrupted files and recommends to download FileFix Professional 2009. Full notifiaction reads:
“Windows File Protection
Windows detected that some of your MS Office and media files are corrupted. Click here to download and install recommended file repair application.”
Once installed and active, FileFix Professional 2009 scans the system and displays all encrypted files, but allows to fix only one with trial version. In order to fix all files user has to purchase paid version. Actually, this is a scam. Buying FileFixProfessional2009 won’t help you fix those infected files. Remove FileFix Professional 2009 and Trojan fpfstb.dll from the system as soon as possible.
