Fake Microsoft Security Essentials Alert
Fake Microsoft Security Essentials Alert is one more Trojan virus created by cyber criminals in order to gain some easy money. The Trojan was created to infiltrate 5 rogue programs to random computer systems. The programs are titled: Major Defense Kit, Peak Protection 2010, AntiSpy Safeguard, Pest Detector 4.1 and Red Cross Antivirus. All of them are basically the same program and the name is the only difference.
Once the Trojan infects the system, it displays Microsoft Security Essentials Alert claiming that the system is infected with Unknown Win32/Trojan. Then, depending on which of the above mentioned programs was infiltrated with a Trojan, it offers purchasing a full version of that application.
If you choose to scan your system online with one of the following programs, you will receive a fake scanner window which will only imitate performing computer scan. However, you will even receive a list of supposedly existing threats which makes computer users really think their systems are badly infected.
In order to scare you even more, the program displays some warning messages stating that data base update failed or that your system is only running a trial version of security tool and you must purchase a full version of it. There are no doubts that you will be redirected to purchasing Major Defense Kit, Peak Protection 2010, AntiSpy Safeguard, Pest Detector 4.1 or Red Cross Antivirus.
As you see, you shouldn’t trust these programs and instead you should get rid of them and Microsoft Security Essentials Alert Trojan as soon as possible.
