Fake alert: “Your Computer might be at Risk!” Popup
“Your Computer might be at Risk!” Popup is a bogus security alert generated by rogue anti-spyware application called Antivirus XP Pro 2009. Fake pop-ups are used widely by rogue applications. The main purpose of fake alerts and pop-ups is to scare the user into purchasing Antivirus XP Pro 2009. The full “Your Computer might be at Risk!” alert reads:
“Your Computer might be at Risk! Viruses have been detected!
Possible:
-Unauthorized access to your files, documents.
-Stealing from your banking accounts.
-Reading your private correspondence.
-Spam-mailing from your PC
Highly recommended to destroy them immediately.”
