Extra Antivirus – Useless Security Tool
Extra Antivirus is a rogue anti-spyware that is advertised as a product for Windows with many useful tools and functions, including professional firewall, protection against malware and many more. In truth, Extra Antivirus was created to get the money from the users for a “full†ExtraAntivirus version, but it is not able to detect or remove parasites.
ExtraAntivirus is usually distributed through Trojans that are made to download its unregistered version. Some of them were found to be hosted on Google Code, a database for programmers to store their programming source codes and projects, so the legitimate service becomes a way to make people believe this product to be real.
Once Extra Antivirus unregistered version is downloaded, it is set to start its malicious technique for promoting its commercial software and the user is showed notifications about the infections on his PC. Moreover, Extra Antivirus is known to start fake system checking and scanning.
Extra Antivirus is created to scare the people into paying money for scammers. The best option in this situation is to remove this malware from the machine as soon as possible.
If the user wants to get rid of Extra Antivirus, these files should be deleted: ExtraAV.exe, ChkDisk.dll.
