Contraviro
Contraviro is just another fraud designed to scare you into thinking that your computer is infected with dangerous malware. It is classified as a rogue anti-spyware program, because it displays false scan results, fake security alerts and may even hijack your internet browser in order to reach it goals.
Usually, Contraviro is promoted through the use of Trojans, but it may be also advertised on various malicous websites that offer free online anti-malware scanners. Once installed, these Trojans will display fake security alerts. If you click on these alerts, you will be redirected to Contraviro homepage.
When running, Contraviro will supposedly scan your computer and list numerous infections. Of course, these infections are all fake. Some of the listed infections actually may be legitimate Windows files, so don’t hurry to remove them, otherwise you may seriously damage your system or make Windows unstable.Â
