check.exe
check.exe is a malicious file related to an advertising program. Its function is to monitor the user’s net-surfing habits, so it can more efficiently generate advertising pop-ups. Note, that check.exe may also be part of other programs, such as Hoots spyware and other, more harmless programs, such as the backup restore agent for Acer notebooks.
Depending on what check.exe belongs to, it might be a threat to your computer and thus be detrimental. In this case, it should be removed upon detection.
