Beware of Barracuda Antivirus
Barracuda Antivirus is a fake security tool, created as other classic frauds with a reason to force the user to make a purchase and get his money. To acquire this scareware, users have to spend $49.95 and it is worthless because Brracuda Antispyware is able neither to find, nor to delete any virus.
Barracuda-antivirus.com and several other roguish websites are the sources of this antivirus software and, with a help of Trojans, it is usually installed without users’ permission. After BarracudaAntivirus is on the system, it launches loads of popups and makes an image of serious computer infections by falsified security alerts. The user is offered a paid “full†version of Barracuda Anti virus with a reason to delete non-existing threats. This offer is dangerous for the user because the possibility of losing the information of his credit card increases and more infections can be downloaded into PC.
Barracuda Antivirus leaves marks on the computer so after noticing that the performance of the computer has slowed down, new desktop shortcuts have appeared or annoying popups started to bombard the PC, the user should delete all the Barracuda Antivirus files as soon as possible.
Files to delete: Antivirussystempro.exe, uninstall.exe, conf.cfg, mbase.vdb, quarantine.vdb, queue.vdb.
