Alg.exe

Alg.exe is one of the essential system files for the Microsoft Windows OS. ALG means Application Layer Gateway, which is a Windows service that enables third party firewall usage and allows Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) to connect your computer to the internet. Closing this process will immediately disable your internet connection.

Usually, alg.exe is located in C:\Windows\System32. If you find it anywhere else in your system, you can be sure that you’ve been infected with spyware.

Moreover, if you see two alg.exe processes running in your task manager at the same time, it means that one of these processes is parasitic. In that case, use reputable anti-spyware tools, such as Spyware Doctor or SpySweeper, to cure your system from any threat.
